<p>Mrs. Holiday will be the spokesperson for Taste of Home.</p>
<p>Taste of Home has begun a nationwide search on <a href="http://Facebook.com/TasteofHome">Facebook.com/TasteofHome</a> to identify candidates for the position of Mrs. Holiday, a spokesperson role at the company, which includes a $50,000 payment.“She’s an advocate, an ambassador and an inspiration who cooks for her family to bring everyone around the table at the holidays. She’s got memorable recipes combined with a celebration attitude,” according to editor -in-chief Catherine Cassidy.</p>
<p>If you think you have what it takes and you&#8217;re 18 years old or older visit <a href="https://www.facebook.com/tasteofhome">Taste of Home Facebook page</a> and enter the virtual pageant (full details are posted there). Each contestant must submit a video entry of 2 minutes or less explaining or showing how they bring the holidays to life and why they are the ideal candidate.</p>
<p>If you don&#8217;t want to enter, you can still participate by voting for your favorite contestant between June 4 and September 7 &#8212; and the winner will be selected from the top 100 vote getters by a panel of experts.</p>
<p>Once crowned, Mrs. Holiday will spend her time conducting interviews, hosting cooking segments, blogging and visiting retail stores and Taste of Home cooking schools across the country.</p>

<p>For this event, guests were welcomed in with a glass of Castronovo Montepulciano to start off the night and made their way to the bar area to mingle with the group.</p>

<p>Soon after, we were spoiled with more plates of hors d&#8217;oeuvres than we could have imagined. Plates of Beef Sliders, Meatloaf Meatballs, Catfish Bites and Duck Sausage (pictured above) made their rounds amongst our guests &#8212; making for a happy group.</p>

<p>The group was also happy to discover their soon-to-be-famous happy hour available from 4-7 nightly. Along with great drink specials ($5 drinks, house wine and specialty cocktails), their happy hour food menu is amazing and includes a selection of dollar dances &#8212; yes, for just $1. This includes beef sliders, oysters, escargot, smoked salmon and shrimp cocktail. If you&#8217;re willing to splurge a little ($5 is a splurge for happy hour here), you can enjoy crab sliders, scallops sliders, lobster tacos, beef carpaccio and more.</p>

<p>Our event took place in the Molokai bar, where guests were greeted with a glass of wine to start the night off.  We made our way to the bar and surrounding area, happy to have escaped the rain. For this event, we partnered up with the South Florida Public Relations Network (SFPRN), bringing in some new people to the group.</p>

<p>If you&#8217;re looking for a culinary adventure, it&#8217;s time to take a trip to Hollywood, Florida. Tucked away in a residential neighborhood in what looks like an ordinary house, lies Sardelli&#8217;s Italian Chophouse. The Sardelli Family, who also own Fulvio&#8217;s 1900 and Vino Hollywood, opened up this charming fine dining restaurant in January &#8212; and have picked up quite the following.</p>
<p>Being the type of restaurant that you just don&#8217;t stumble upon, Sardelli&#8217;s was introduced to me by a colleague of mine who insisted that I needed to experience the restaurant. When I least expected it, I instantly found a new favorite.</p>

<p>Once you step inside the restaurant, you will love the intimate feel of the first floor dining room &#8212; but will be happy to discover that Sardelli&#8217;s actually has 4-stories offering a different feel on each level. On the first floor, you&#8217;ll find a 25-seat dining room. On floor 2, there&#8217;s room for overflow on busy nights and that&#8217;s where the wine cellar is. Moving on to the third floor, you&#8217;ll find an open kitchen (pictured above) and a room for private parties is on the top floor.</p>

<p><span id="more-10079"></span>The menu is made up of high-end steaks, seafood and pasta &#8212; adding in a modern twist to classic dishes. While I didn&#8217;t sit down to a traditional dinner, I was able to try a few dishes to get a taste of what they had to offer. What I did taste was the Whole Egg Ravioli with Pancetta (seen above), Duck Breast with roasted sweet potatoes with Amareno cherries, and Crispy Pork Belly with Granny Smith apple risotto and wilted greens. Each was spot on and perfectly executed.</p>

<p>To finish off, we nibbled on crispy slices of a baguette with homemade Meyer Lemon Habanero and Fig jams &#8212; made fresh from the fruit in their garden.</p>
<p>If the menu is reflective of my first experience here, I will be making many return visits.</p>

<p>This visit was no exception. Upon arrival, guests were treated to a glass of vino and made their way into the private area set aside for our group. Soon after, a nice buffet of their house specialties was set up. Plates were filled with rice balls, mini meatballs, zucchini fritti, margherita flatbread and more, which made for some happy guests.</p>

<p>We are always on the hunt for new restaurants to introduce you to that offer sumptuous cuisine and friendly service &#8212; and we think we&#8217;ve discovered one that will fulfill your cravings for authentic Greek Cuisine. It&#8217;s called Estia Greek Taverna &amp; Bar and is located in Royal Palm Place. Estia  &#8211; meaning gathering place &#8212; is open 7 days a week for dinner and serves lunch on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. To give you a true Greek experience, Estia features live music, Greek dancing, a full bar with a selection of Greek wines and beer &#8212; and a fantastic chef, Silvestros Sotiriadis &#8212; who was classically trained in Greece.</p>

<p>While Estia serves common Mediterranean dishes that you&#8217;ll find at a variety of Greek restaurants, we recommend going for some of chef&#8217;s signature dishes and taking your palate on a culinary adventure. To start off, we enjoyed the fresh from the garden Greek Salad and housemade hummus, but it was the Mussels Santorini that we couldn&#8217;t get enough of. Tender mussels popped with flavor, as they were infused with ouzo, fresh herbs, tomato and feta.</p>

<p>Other standout dishes included the Fresh Whole Grilled Snapper deboned tableside and Chef&#8217;s favorite &#8212; and a house signature dish &#8212; a tender Lamb Shank served in a tomato sauce with orzo.</p>

<p>In addition being a great place to enjoy a relaxed dinner, Estia is also gaining popularity during happy hour, where they offer 2-for-1 well drinks, house wine, $3 beers and $5 select appetizers from 4:30-6:30 pm.</p>

<p>Sometimes I just crave freshly made mozzarella, with vine-ripened tomatoes, basil and then finished with a sweet drizzle of balsamic vinegar &#8212; and it doesn&#8217;t get any better than with a trip to da Campo Osteria in Fort Lauderdale. Known for their tableside Mozzarella demonstrations, da Campo will now offer fresh pulled Mozzarella making classes on Thursday nights with Executive Chef Joseph Quinn.</p>
<p>Starting on May 17, 2012, da Campo Osteria will offer weekly classes on Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 pm for $25 per person. This includes a welcome glass of Prosecco; a demonstration of fresh pulled Mozzarella; up to two additional wine pairings; and a complimentary bottle of olive oil to take home.</p>
