Taste of the Nation 2010: Fort Lauderdale
It’s not everyday that you get to mingle with the area’s top chefs, sip on fine wine, tantalize your taste buds with gourmet bites from the best there is in the area, plus — help raise money for a great cause. Such was the case this past week as Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation annual fundraiser took place at the Broward County Convention Center, where over $84,000 was raised to help put an end to childhood hunger.
Dine Magazine was there tasting and sipping our way through this elegant food and wine event, and of course, snapped some photos along the way.

When the clock struck 6:00 p.m., guests anxiously entered the event ready to be wowed with exquisite wines and sumptuous cuisine.

The team from the newly opened Brio at Gulfstream was also at the event, and letting people know about their incredible $2.95 bar menu.

Also from the Village of Gulfstream, was Chef Paolo from Tonino Lamborghini. On the menu, was the luscious Tiramisu, that was quickly eaten up.

The Finlandia girls were happy to mix up a fruity cocktail for passersby.

We were happy to see Chef Oliver Saucy from Cafe Maxx and Chef Douglas Rodriguez from D. Rodriguez at the event

Another favorite restaurant of ours that was at the event was Chef Dean Max from 3030 Ocean. He was serving up a decadent corn soup with rock shrimp -- my favorite of the show.

Joe's Stone Crab was serving up Kahlua-Root Beer Push Pops. Don't run out to get one though, as they only serve these up at special events, but they were a perfect ending to the evening.
