Dine Magazine has paired up with Chef Edgar Leal for a fabulous wine tasting event at Cacao Restaurant in Coral Gables. This scrumptious restaurant offers creative, contemporary Latin-American cuisine in an elegant setting. They are known their flavorful ceviche, exotic steak & seafood dishes and their chocolate desserts. Leal and his restaurant Cacao have been recognized by some of the most important names in U.S. media, and Cacao was once named Best New Restaurant by Food and Wine Magazine.
At this tasting, you will taste a series of wines and sample Chef’s delicious hors d’oeuvres created just for our guests.

With Miami Spice wrapping up on May 31st, it’s time to start looking for dining deals in other locations. Two areas that you should keep on your radar are Coral Gables and Palm Beach.
Coral Gables Restaurant Week starts on June 1st and runs through the 14th. There will be a big kickoff for the event on May 29th to get people in the mood for exploring the restaurants of Coral Gables. This will be a street party where guests will be able to sample a selection of culinary delights from participating Restaurant Week restaurants. With both Bacardi and Perrier as sponsors of the event, you are sure to indulge in some good food and drink. Participants will also be able to vote on their favorite dish. To liven things up a bit for this event, there will be live entertainment from Grammy nominated Negroni’s Trio and 97.3 The Coast will also be there. One lucky guest will receive a $500 shopping spree to Downtown Coral Gables.
The festivities will continue the first 2 weeks in June and participating restaurants will offer a special 3-course prix-fixe menu at about 20% off their regular prices. Each restaurant will price the menu individually. My suggestion would be to check out Cacao, Ortanique, Les Halles or Red Koi.
Also during the month of June is Palm Beach Restaurant Month. Participating restaurants in Palm Beach will offer a 3-course prix-fixe menu from some of the areas finest restaurants. The cost will be $20.09 for lunch and $35 for dinner. It doesn’t look like they have the menus posted yet, but some great restaurants including Cafe Boulud, The Ocean Bistro at The Four Seasons, Trevini and Renato’s will all be participating.
