I must say that if you want a no-fail fabulous meal where the food, service, ambiance are always spot on, Cafe Maxx is the place to go. The location is the only downfall to me because it is in Pompano and I’m in central Palm Beach County. So if I want to go there, I must plan ahead. It’s not like I’m just going to be in the area for some random reason. But if I have people in town where I want to impress them with the food, it’s a great place to rely on. I remember going there for a cooking class and Chef Oliver Saucy would put his hand up and BOOM! his waitstaff would know exactly what he needed. Quite impressive!
I recently found out through the help of my new friends at Fort Lauderdale on the Cheap, that Cafe Maxx is running a fabulous special this summer. It is similar to the prix-fixe menu of Miami Spice, but there’s more options and the special is running from now until September 30th giving you time to make multiple visits down. Continue reading…

Dine and Wine Club members – you tasted it here first (at the premiere held at Cafe Maxx in Pompano Beach)! Harrington Wine’s “Wiley Vineyard/Anderson Valley” 2006 Pinot Noir is the new king of the hill, capturing the Best of Show/Double Gold award (as in, numero uno out of 340 entries) at the recently concluded 2008 American Fine Wine Competition held in Boca Raton. Didn’t make the Harrington “coming out party?” Not to worry – we’re looking to put another Harrington Pinot Noir event on the Wine and Dine Club calendar in early 2009, so stay tuned!

When people first pick up an issue of Dine Magazine, they instantly notice two things. The first being the feel of the magazine and the second being they beautiful photography contained within. We try to maintain a standard of elegance within the pages and that attracts people to us.
Although there’s nothing quite like tasting fresh ingredients and enjoying the perfect pairing of flavors coming together, looking through photographs of food is almost just as good. That’s why I was extremely excited to hear of a new contest that Wired Magazine has going on right now. They are taking us on a feast of food through photography and are calling readers to submit photos of food, both strange oddities and creations you can’t wait to indulge in.
So, take your chance. The top 10 entries (voted in by readers of the website) will be featured on wired.com. For more information, visit Wired Magazine.

Ooh! Do I love Cafe Maxx! We had our last wine tasting at Cafe Maxx, and it was fabulous. I feel so honored to be working with Darrel and Oliver and to have them invite our wine club in. Every time I think of the restaurant my heart nearly skips a beat. For our wine tasting, we selected Harrington Wine to be our sponsor. This top line Pinot Noir was a perfect fit for this location. Even the owners were wondering how we managed to get such a top quality wine to sponsor our event.
As our group arrived, we had to split up into 2 groups. The first half was led into the back room and sat down at the tables. This was a little more formal than we were used to as our guests usually stand around and mingle and the hors d’oeuvres are passed around, but this time Cafe Maxx did it in their style and guests were served at their place setting.
The second group was seated at the bar and were served the series of wines and hors d’oeuvres at their own pace. Once again, there was great energy among the guests and we savored every last bite as we were served tuna sashimi pizza, shitake and chicken pot stickers, among others – delicious!
