Free Starbucks Today

For all of those voters (and non-voters alike), Starbucks will be offering free coffee all day today. Initially, they were offering a free cup of joe to only those who had voted, but now due to some complaints that they were bribing people to vote, they will be offering coffee to anyone who walks through the door. So make your way down to your local Starbucks and enjoy. And if you are not a coffee lover, Ben & Jerry’s will be offering a free scoop of ice cream from 5:00 – 8:00 pm.

Starbucks is the Word

I posted a few days ago about Starbucks launching the new Vivanno Nourishing Blends and my traffic skyrocketed so I thought my readers might be interested in the latest news, rather sad news I must say. Starbucks just posted their list of US Store closures. Approximately 600 stores will begin closing today and the closures continue through the first part of 2009. Here’s a run down of what is closing in South Florida:

  • Boynton Beach Mall — Boynton Beach
  • Downtown at the Gardens — Palm Beach Gardens
  • Gardens Mall III — Palm Beach Gardens
  • PGA Commons Central — Palm Beach Gardens
  • CityPlace II — West Palm Beach
  • Lake Ida and Jog Rds. — Delray Beach
  • Abacoa II — Jupiter
  • 11 Broward Blvd — Fort Lauderdale
  • Lakes Mall — Lauderdale Lakes
  • Coral Square Mall –Pompano Beach
  • SW 160th St and US 1 — Miami
  • 750 NE 125th St — North Miami
It sounds like these stores will close by the end of July. Sad news on a rainy day.
