Wine and Hors d’Oeuvres at Mai Tardi on December 15

maitardi1Join us for our last weekly wine event of 2009 in the Miami area. This week we will be at Mai Tardi in the Design District. Occupying the former Brosia space, Mai Tardi (meaning “never late”) brings you casual Italian fare from the owners of Spris, Tiramesu and Segafredo. Mai Tardi is laid-back, low key and is set amid a charming patio lined with hues of blue and green. They just finished their outdoor bar area, so you will be one of the first to check this out. Please note that this event will be held in their outdoor patio area, so be sure to dress appropriately.

Dine Magazine Visits Fratelli Lyon and Sunset Grill

While Dine has been hosting many food and wine events, we’ve made many friends along the way — one being our friends at IEEM (the same people behind Vinitaly). This week, we decided to pair up with them to host a kick-off party for Simply Italian at Fratelli Lyon.

Simply Italian starts next week (November 20-29) and it is a celebration of the food and wine of Italy. Guests can dine at participating restaurants and in doing so, will receive a chance to win a trip to Italy and other Italian-related products.

For our party, guests arrived at this Design District culinary destination for plenty of Italian treats – a glass of Italian wine or Prosecco (Domodimonti Sangiovese or Zonin Prosecco), mini pizzas, Prosciutto Burrata Crostini and Semolina Crisps. One lucky guest even went home with 2 tickets to Fratelli Lyon’s fabulous Wednesday night Passport through Italy wine seminar where he will taste his way through the wine regions of Italy. Be sure to check out the rest of our photos from the event.

sunset grill

On Wednesday, our wine & dine club gathered at Sunset Grill in Northwood Village. This eclectic, gourmet grill offers a fun and trendy atmosphere for locals and visitors to gather in.

Owners Terry Marince and Matt Reber made sure our group had a delightful experience and presented us with plenty of gourmet delights – freshly made hummus, spring rolls, Quiche Lorraine and Thai meatballs. The combination of Coastal Vines wine and the delicious hors d’oeuvres tantalized our taste buds, as we discovered a new favorite dining destination. As always, we snapped some photos of this fun-filled event.
