January 29th – Welcome to the World of Wine at Forte di Asprinio

EVENT SOLD OUT!

Dine Magazine will be hosting a series of wine tasting classes at Forte in West Palm Beach. This is the first in the series. In the class, participants will learn:

  • How to taste wine subjectively
  • How to analyze wine
  • How to order wine
  • What to look for when ordering wine at a restaurant
  • The importance of proper stemware

Where: Forte di Asprino, 225 Clematis St, West Palm Beach

When: Thursday, January 29, 2008

Time: 6:00 – 7:30 pm

Cost: $25 per person ($20 for members of Dine Magazine’s Wine and Dine Club. If you are a member of the club, email Katy at katy@dinemag.net to buy your ticket.)


During the class, participants will taste a series of 5 different wines and will be served 2 canapes and some bread and cheese to complement the wine tasting.

In addition, the restaurant will be offering attendees a special dinner menu. $55 for a 3-course menu with a glass of wine with each course ($35 for a 3-course dinner without wine). I will be posting the menu soon.

I Love Miami Spice

The time has come – the time of the year that you’ve been waiting for. Yes! Miami Spice starts this Friday and extends through September 30th. Every year, Miami Spice showcases the very best of the Miami Restaurant scene. During this special time, participating restaurants will be offering 3-course fixed menus to guests at a cost of $23 for lunch/$36 for dinner. This annual event, organized by the Greater Miami Convention and Visitor’s Bureau gives diners the opportunity to savor extraordinary cuisine by Miami’s top chefs.

Along with the fabulous dining deals, you can get a sneak peak as chefs from some of the top restaurants showcase their menus at cooking demonstrations taking place at the Macy’s Cooking School in Dadeland and Aventura. They will also appear on cooking segments running on South Florida Today, WSBF/UPN’s Jim and Jade, and WSCV/Telemundo’s Buenos Dias. Sean Bernal from The Oceanaire will kick off the demos at Dadeland Mall on August 2nd at 1:00pm and Tom Azar from Emeril’s Miami Beach will be at Aventura Mall on the 2nd at 1:00 pm.
