It seems like there are more changes in store for Forte. This chic South Beach-style restaurant started off with Top Chef Stephen Asprinio at its helm, with the name Forte di Asprinio. Very trendy feel, dynamite cuisine, but after a period of quietness, Stephen had disappeared and Forte changed its name to just Forte. No “di Asprinio” anymore.
After that, it became Forte and the restaurant continued to have an absolutely delicious menu created by Chef Mark Liberman, yet failed to attract the crowds. Josh Sagman came in with his crew and brought in some young girls dressed in bustiers for awhile, revved up the Happy Hour and I guess that didn’t work because there are more changes in store.
After reading Palm Beach Daily News, I quickly learned that Maurizio Ciminella from Amici in Palm Beach was jumping on board and once again, the restaurant is changing its name. This time Forte is going to lose the accent in the “e” and become Forte Ristorante, Enoteca, Pizzeria and offering discount prices. Expect the menu to be a bit more rustic, with a fairly extensive pizza menu. Sounds delicious to me! Dinners will be under $20, and lunch will be under $12. Check out their $5 takeout lunch menu, just like Amici offers.
Is this what Forte needs? What do you think?
