Everyone’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, so come on out and join Dine Magazine for a happy hour St. Patrick’s Day style. Secrets, one of our favorite gathering spots, has created a fantastic buffet of traditional Irish specialties with a modern twist. For this event, we thought we’d kick things up a notch — so it’s green all-around — enjoy a contemporary version of a Blarney Stone cocktail, green decor, and of course, green costumes, if you choose. Prizes will be awarded for best costume, so start planning now and get in that festive spirit.

DINE Magazine kicked off this past week with a bang, as we visited JB Kitchen & Bar. Open for just a short time now, JB Kitchen & Bar brings classic American food with a Latin twist to S. Miami Avenue. Chef Frederick Kelly, a Michael’s alum, and Chef Jeremy Fernandez from Peru have created a simple and straight forward menu with scrumptious options like the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes (and I rarely recommend crab cakes, but these are a must try), Lobster Mac & Cheese and the Corvina a la nona.

The bar, spacious and square-shaped, is a perfect gathering spot for after-work drinks, and we filled the room with some curious and happily satisfied guests – crab cakes, tuna ceviche, calamari and yucca fries will get the job done. While you’re there, be sure to try one of their specialty martinis like their Watermelon Mint Martinis. Be sure to check out some of our photos from the event.
On Wednesday, we visited a West Palm Beach classic — Blue Martini. Known for their over-sized martinis and lively atmosphere, our guests gladly imbibed and escaped the downpour that was just outside. Good thing we have some dedicated Happy Hour attendees and nothing was going to stop them from coming to another fabulous DINE Magazine event.

As always, we snapped some photos at our event.

Join DINE Magazine at Blue Martini in CityPlace for mingling, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Located on the 2nd floor in CityPlace, Blue Martini offers a sophisticated, yet casual setting. They are known for their extensive list of martinis, sumptuous tapas menu and lively atmosphere. Guests will enjoy 1 Van Gogh Vodka cocktail and a selection of complimentary hors d’oeuvres. We will be in the back room so when you arrive, go inside, pass the stage area and head to your right — you should be able to find the group. If not, ask for the DINE group.

When: Wednesday, February 24
Time: 5:30 – 7:30 pm
Where: Blue Martini, 550 S Rosemary Ave (in CityPlace), West Palm Beach
Cost: $10 and free for paid members of DINE’s wine & dine club. Members, you must RSVP to get in for free.

Please prepay and RSVP in advance so we have enough food for the group.
