Krispy Kreme Kobe Beef Burgers? — Oh yes!

krispykremeKrispy Kreme Kobe Beef Burgers, Beer Cheddar Cheese Shooters, Chanterelle & Caramelized Onion Polenta Cakes — only at Secrets Piano Bar and Grill. Whenever we go to Secrets at the Windsor Gardens Hotel in North Palm Beach, we know we are in for a treat. We can be assured that Chef Joe will create original gourmet delights and I think we all took a double take this week at our Happy Hour event at the restaurant. Was that really a Kobe Beef Burger in a doughnut? Oh yes it was! And we can be assured, that you won’t get this creation in your everyday restaurant.

Also for this event, we introduced Silver Dagger vodka to our guests. This ultra-premium vodka brand, known by many for their fashion line, will soon be available in South Florida and from our first taste — it will be a welcome addition.  So stay tuned as they make their splash into the local dining and club scene.

So once again, our happy hour at Secrets was a success. When you bring great food, live piano music, tasty beverages and foodies into a fabulous venue, you can’t ask for anything more. And for those of you who want to check out our event, you can see some of the photos online.

Secrets Piano Bar & Grill is located at the Windsor Gardens Hotel, 11360 US Highway 1 in North Palm Beach.

TasteCasting Kicks Off with a Fabulous Wine Dinner at Secrets Piano Bar

1diningOver the past few months, I have been promoting a new project of mine called TasteCasting and last week we kicked it off with a bang at Secrets Piano Bar in North Palm Beach.

What is TasteCasting?

TasteCasting is a group of socially connected people who enjoy all aspects of social media (twitter, facebook, etc.), enjoy great food and sharing their experiences. Our team connects with restaurants and other establishments who are looking to build awareness of their location, announce grand openings, special menu items or special promotions.

Welcome to Secrets Piano Bar & Grill

Secrets Piano Bar and Grill is located at the Windsor Gardens Hotel in North Palm Beach. This is a secret gem in the area. I had driven by this location multiple times without knowing a fantastic restaurant existed inside.  But once you are inside, you know you won’t be leaving anytime soon, especially if you happen to arrive for one of their monthly wine dinners.

Chef Joe Angelucci

Chef Joe Angelucci radiates with love and excitement for creativity in the kitchen. Although, he runs the kitchen during the week, his wine dinners are what he surely looks forward to, and you are sure to have one of the best meals you’ve had in a long time.  Chef Joe has a culinary background that many of us would be jealous of. In addition to having apprenticed under James Beard Award-Winning Chef Michael McNally, he’s also spent time in the kitchens of Barton G. and the Versace Mansion.

Wine Dinners

The wine dinner we attended had a wild game theme  – elk, venison, peasant, Elysian Fields lamb – were the focus tonight. Four members of our TasteCasting team came prepared with our cameras and cell phones in hand, ready to tweet about our experience.

The evening began with Seared Elk Carpaccio with Baby Arugula, Truffled Dijon Aioli and Meyer Lemon served with a Mission Fig and Apple Chutney.  This was paired with a Manifesto Sauvignon Blanc. The combination of the Pyrat marinated elk, peppery arugula and sweetness of the Mission Figs and apples was an amazing play on flavors and textures. Chef Joe hit this course right on.

Next in line was the Wild Game Pheasant with Chanterelle Cognac Sauce and Chestnut Rice paired with a Wishing Tree Shiraz. The crunchy skin on the pheasant combined with the smoked paprika and the creamy chanterelle made this my favorite dish of the evening. And I didn’t think I would be much of a fan of wild game?

whetstoneThe play on flavors and mouth-watering courses didn’t stop there, and the Elysian Fields Lamb with Trumpet Mushroom, a Red Wine Reduction and Caramelized Root Vegetables was next up. Although this dish was tasty, the winner of this course was the wine – a Whetstone Jon Boat Pinot Noir. It was bursting with flavors of bing cherry and sassafras tea. Wowza! It’s been added to my list of favorites.

Course Four was a Ratatouille of Venison, Grilled Eggplant, Zucchini, Pan Roasted Onions and Roma Tomatoes. This came with a Clos La Coutale Cahors. The venison did come out a little too tough, but the medley of vegetables was bursting with flavors of fresh tomatoes.

Chocolate Sachertorte with Fresh Berries

Even if we were getting full, we were out of luck because more deliciousness was on its way. The last course of the evening was a Chocolate Sachertorte with Fresh Berries and a Meeker Fro-Zin. Rich, chocolate sweetness made for a perfect ending to our experience.

Since we were at Secrets Piano Bar, what would I night out be without a little live entertainment throughout the event? Relaxing piano music and even some crowd participation, as we ended the night with a little rendition of Piano Man.

This was a perfect first TasteCasting experience. Special thanks goes out to Chef Joe Angelucci, Kyle Pintarelli, director of Food & Beverage and the entire TasteCasting team.

If you are a fan of Chef Joe’s and are looking for a meeting room for your next private party, happy hour, networking function or holiday party, the Windsor Gardens has the perfect room for you. Instead, of having it catered with some mediocre food, Chef Joe will be planning the menu for your event at the Windsor Gardens Hotel. Even better, if you book your party and mention TasteCasting, you will receive 20% off the cost of your meeting room space.

If you would like to attend one of their next wine dinners, be sure to contact Kyle for future dates and more information.
