Ferran Adria Launches INEDIT Beer
I think I was as excited about the concept of INEDIT beer, as I was about drinking it. Estrella Damm INEDIT claims to be the first beer specifically brewed for food pairings so it is no surprise that it was the brainchild of world-renowned chef of elBulli, Ferran Adria. Served in a white wine glass, filled halfway, it is a nice compromise for the He Said Beer/She Said Wine couples. It’s made for sharing, even better. It seems to be a more sophisticated approach to the traditional bottle of beer, as it comes in a black 750 mL wine bottle.
When you look at it, INEDIT has a hazy, amber tone to it. Initially it gives off hints of citrus flavors, followed by a splash of spiciness and coriander. Its sweet and easy to drink and perfect for someone who enjoys a light, summery beer. While I enjoyed the taste, I was more impressed by the idea of it. Selling at $9.95, it is quite a splurge for someone just looking for a good beer. Would I go out of my way to buy it? Probably not, but it would be a great hostess gift or something new to introduce your friends to.
